Am I committed after the first session?
The first session is not a commitment to start therapy. It is an opportunity to explore what is troubling you an opportunity to ask me any questions that might help you. We will discuss together if you would like to continue attending sessions. During the assessment I will have the chance to explore any concerns you might have and answer any further questions.
How do I know if the therapist is properly qualified?
There is no law currently to prevent someone practising as a counsellor. Always ask about this concern when you make your enquiry.
I am a member of 4 professional bodies that require me to practice to a framework of professional standards. I am also accredited by UKCP. I am required to do a minimum of professional development each year to renew my accreditation.
How many sessions do I need?
Every client who comes for therapy requires an individual approach and assessment. I work on an open ended basis and I also offer time limited counselling. We would discuss what is most suitable for you in your initial session.
Do you offer counselling over the phone?
I work primarily face to face but where there is already an established therapeutic relationship I would offer phone sessions where a client is travelling for business or away from home.
How much will each session cost?
I charge up to £120 in Mortimer street and Wimpole street. I am able to offer discounted fees where necessary.
If you would like to know more please discuss this with me at the time of booking your first appointment.
